Mrs. Alline Grady Ross passed away on November 14th 2023, at the age of 92.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on November 20th, at First Christian Church with Dr. Mark Bender officiating. Interment is to follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Grady was born in Quanah, Texas, on December 20th 1930, to Ben and Alline Kirkland.

While in Quanah, Grady would never forget that her Mother told her not to walk past their back fence because the Indians lived behind their house and you could see the Teepees.

In the summer of 1936, the family moved to Wichita Falls, Texas.  Grady went to Crockett elementary school. Where she met her lifelong friends Carol Cullum Allred, and Betty DeShong.  Mother's nick name was (Bird Legs).  And because she was so slight Betty's Father who was a magician would use Grady in his magic show as the girl that he would levitate. The family moved to Hayes Street in 1943, and Grady met another lifelong friend Johnnie Marie Waggoner (Sauder).

Grady went to Zundelowitz Junior High, WFHS (Old High) graduating in 1948.  Grady met her love of her life her senior year, Dwight M. Ross Jr.,  Grady being a year older than Dwight stayed in town and went to Midwestern University where she was a cheerleader.  She then transferred to Texas University for her Sophomore and Junior years then transferred to the University Oklahoma and Graduated with a BA degree in Business Administration in 1953.

Grady and Dwight were married June 20th 1953.  Grady had 4 children Julia Ross Taylor, Kathleen Ross Stephens, Dwight M. Ross III and Carter Moody Ross.

Grady was involved in several community organizations; The Children's Aid Society (Foster Home), Wichita Falls Museum & Arts Center, Cotillion and Colony Dance Clubs, Jr. League of Wichita Falls, Women's Forum, Wichita County Heritage Society and a lifelong member of First Baptist Church.

Grady is survived by her two daughters Julia Ross Taylor of Fort Worth, Texas, Kathleen Ross Stephens and husband Tom of Wichita Falls, Texas; and two sons Dwight M. Ross III and wife Sandra of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Carter Moody Ross and wife Brooke of Aledo, Texas; brother, Ben Kirkland, Jr. and wife Margaret of Wichita Falls, Texas; sister, Joy Apple of Irving, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and 8 great grand children.

Grady is preceded in death by both parents; and her husband Dwight Ross, Jr.
