Jack Haskell Taylor, Jr., 95, of Bluegrove, Texas, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15 ^th at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 16 ^th at Grace Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Shannon Cemetery under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A son of the late Jack Haskell, Sr. and Zelma G. (Staples) Taylor, Jack was born on November 2, 1926, in Westover, Texas, in Baylor County. Jack joined the Army Air Corps during his senior year of high school and served in Germany at the end of WWII.  Upon returning home, he remained in the Reserves while he pursued his college degree.  He was reactivated by the US Air Force for the Korean Conflict, where he completed his pilot training and flew combat missions.  In Vietnam, he continued with combat and scouting missions, earning the Distinguished Flying Cross.  After 29 years of faithful service to his country, Jack retired as a Major in 1974.

Jack's love for his country ran deep, but his love for the Lord was even deeper.  He was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church, where he served as the Sunday School Superintendent, offering usher, gave devotions, and occasionally led the song service.

His heart's desire was to see his family accept Christ as their Savior and serve the Lord.

In his spare time, Jack was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He loved to travel the countryside and in his 80's took to riding his four-wheeler in the mountains of New Mexico.

Jack is proceeded in death by his parents; his brother, Billy Parks Taylor; wives, Ruthe S. Taylor, and Amelia M. Taylor; and son, Aric Johnson.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Marrion Bryant; daughter, Joy Nelson; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Eugene Charpia; son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Jennifer Moorhouse; daughter-in-law, Janet Johnson; grandchildren, Shannon Byerly and husband, Jim; Melissa Silva and husband, Jose; Jeremy Johnson and wife, Alisha; Joel Johnson; Elizabeth McDonnell and husband, Skip; Jesse Johnson and wife, Sarah; Caleb Johnson and wife, Merileigh; and 15 great grandchildren.
