Jackie Dale Garrett, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, veteran and friend, 78, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2023.

The family will receive friends at a visitation on Sunday, January 8, 2023, between 2-4pm at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home, 2812 Midwestern Pkwy, Wichita Falls, TX 76308.

Dale (as known to most) was born January 26, 1944, in Quanah, Texas. He was the son of the late Wayne Patterson and Jimmie (Filpot) Patterson. He grew up in Hollis, Oklahoma, and was still connected with many friends from his childhood.

Dale was a lifetime barber and started his career in Duke, Oklahoma. He then moved to Wichita Falls to work as a barber on Sheppard Air Force Base until his retirement. There, he made many friends, helped and mentored many barbers and never met a stranger.

In 1979, he met and married the love of his life Donna, and they remained married until his passing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna; his daughter, Shannon Garrett; son, Brad Garrett and wife Carrie; daughter, Stephanie Curtis and husband Greg; daughter, Amanda Wolf and husband Jeff; and son, Scott Henexson and wife Jenni; along with many loving grand kids and great grand kids.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Jimmie; and sister, Mary Beth Wagner.

Dale enjoyed 43 years of traveling and exploring with his wife Donna. They enjoyed annual trips to the Texas Gulf Coast and hanging with friends.  Together, they raised a blended family, and he enjoyed every second he got with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. They were truly his light. He loved each and every one and cherished every second with them.

He was an amazing man, friend, mentor and most of all husband and father. He taught many what true friendships are, always willing to help anyone in need. Everyone who knew Dale will miss his wit and sense of humor.  He was a giant of a man with an even bigger heart. The world lost a great man but heaven gained a truly amazing angel.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be sent to Hospice of Wichita Falls, or American Lung Association.
