Jacquelyn "Jackie" Dickerman Ashlock, 80, passed away unexpectedly at the family home in Wichita Falls, Texas, on April 18, 2024. While her family is deeply saddened, they rejoice in knowing that she went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior.

Jackie was born on February 3, 1944, to Velma and Jack Dickerman in Sherman, Texas. During her early childhood, she met Jerry Ashlock and he quickly became her best friend and the love of her life. They were married on May 31, 1963. She graduated from East Texas State University with a degree in Education in 1965. Together they created a beautiful life based on faith in God and devotion to each other. They were married for nearly 61 years and were blessed with three children. They began their life together in college and in 1972 moved to Wichita Falls.

With a degree in Education, Jackie devoted her life to teaching and making a difference in the lives of many children. She began her teaching career in Garland, Texas, and retired from the WFISD after almost 40 years of teaching. She had many lifelong friends that were created throughout her years in education.

Jackie was a member of First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls and dedicated her life to spreading the word of God. She loved to play piano and was the organist at East Sherman Baptist Church for many years. She was also a talented seamstress and loved to crochet. She was a proud fan of the Texas Rangers and spent many evenings watching baseball. However, her greatest passion was her family and her devotion to Jesus Christ.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Velma Dickerman ; and her son, Jeff Ashlock. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Ashlock; her sister, Karen Helms and husband David Helms. She also leaves behind two children, Jody Ashlock and wife Cindy; and Joy Patterson and husband Ron; her six grandchildren, Chelsea, Jared, Blake, Kyra, Candice, and Ryan; eight great-grandchildren, Abby, Myles, Lincoln, Eisley, Liam, Landree, Darcy, and Danika; niece, Courtney and nephew, David.

A Visitation will be held Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held Monday, April 22, 2024, at Rosemont Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with Rod Payne officiating.
