James Ross Blethen, 73, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

Graveside services with military honors will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29 ^th at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A son of the late Vera Belle (Barton) and Donald H. Blethen, James was born on May 14, 1948, in Wichita Falls. He and Carol Ann Howard were married on February 22, 1969, in Wichita Falls. James served his country proudly in the United States Army prior to his retirement on July 20, 1980, following 23 years of service. He loved working in his yard and fishing. James took great pride in his truck and let everyone know there was to be no eating or drinking in his beloved pickup. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and dearly loved his fur babies, especially Rusty, who he's loved for the past eleven years.

Along with his parents, James was also preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Blethen in 2013; and his grandson, Andrew Blethen.

He is survived by his daughter, Julie Blethen; son, Chris Blethen; grandchildren, Melanie Brasket and husband, Cameron; Emily Espinoza and Giovanni Espinoza; and Phillip Blethen;  and great-grandchildren, Giovanni Espinoza, Jr., Alejandro Espinoza, Alicia Espinoza, Cameron Brasket, Jr. and Neal Brasket.
