James Norman "Jimmy" Swaydan, Jr. 67, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2023.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28th at Lunn's Chapel with Chaplain Shaun Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends at a visitation following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A son of the late Joyce (Mahfod) and James Norman Swaydan, Sr., Jimmy was born on August 24, 1955, in Wichita Falls. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1973 and earned a Bachelor's in Accounting at MSU. Following college, Jimmy joined with family in Texoma owned Fikes Chemical /J Systems.

He was an avid skydiver and scuba diver and enjoyed diving at Possum Kingdom Lake, as well as other area lakes. He was also an amateur bicycling racer, riding and racing with the HHH team, then with the local Paradigm team. Jimmy was rider group leader on weekly Saturday morning training rides from Braum's on Southwest Parkway to Electra, Texas. He was motivated to help others become better cyclists and made sure everyone survived the 367 hills making it back safely to Braum's  He raced and placed in local area races and rides in Texas and Oklahoma.

Jimmy taught Sunday school at First Baptist Church to a group of 6th grade boys, continuing with them until they graduated high school. He attended Wednesday morning men's Bible study at Williamson's Barn until the study moved and continued at Allendale Baptist Church with Pastor Warren Hall. Jimmy attended Colonial Church where he taught Life Group at 11:00 a.m. Sunday mornings. His passion was sharing God's Truth through studying His Word and teaching the Bible to help believers grow up in Jesus. In 2020, due to Covid, he continued his classes on Zoom. Jimmy served as deacon, was on the prayer team and attended men's Bible study.

Along with parents, Jimmy was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Monte G. Beasley; his cousin, Sandy Swaydan Rodolph; and brother-in-law, Brian S. Beasley.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Becky Swaydan; brother, Jeff Swaydan and wife, Kim; sister, Jan Crouch and husband, Gary; daughter, Jessica Swaydan Campbell and husband, Shaun and their children, Elliott, Emelia and Evelyn; and daughter, Julia Swaydan Robertson and her husband, Justin and their children, Emilee Joy and Monte.
