Ronnie Rucker of Wichita Falls, Texas passed away on December 20, 2021 peacefully in his sleep at Hospice of Wichita Falls, Texas.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 22 ^nd at Floral Heights United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Brian Bosworth officiating.  A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Elmwood Cemetery in Bowie, Texas.

Ronnie was born on January 23, 1939, in Bowie, Texas to Wilda Fay (Brite) and George Max Rucker.  Ronnie graduated from Bowie High School where he was a member of the Jackrabbit football team and the band.  He earned his degree in Architectural Design from Texas Tech University. He married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life Reta Taylor Rucker in 1959.  In 1961, their only daughter was born and after graduation, they moved to Wichita Falls in 1962.

He became the President of Killebrew/Rucker Architects in 1968.  The firm was responsible for the design of many building in Wichita Falls, including Hospitals, buildings at MSU, SAFB, airports and Civic buildings.  Ronnie was named a Fellow in the Fellowship of American Institute of Architects in 1982 and served on many professional boards.

Ronnie loved his family in a big way.  He had a compassionate heart and was supportive in all his families' endeavors.  He and Reta both loved their family time spent in Crested Butte with many of their Wichita Falls friends. He adored Reta and he was a very involved and loving dad. Brad became the son he never had. He was Grandbuddy to Russell and Gina and their two boys.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his granddaughter, Allie Taylor Prickett; his sister in law Mary Taylor Deaver and nephew, Kent Deaver.

He is survived by his daughter Ronna Prickett and husband Brad, grandson Russell Prickett and wife Gina, two grandsons, Walker James Prickett and Graham Taylor Prickett; Sisters-in-law, Treva Taylor and Kay Power and a brother-in-law, Max Taylor; nephew, Keith Deaver and Ryan Taylor; nieces, Courtney Moseman-Murphy, Paige Power Greathouse and Carrie Taylor Rambo; one great niece and five great nephews.

A special Thanks to Rev. Dr. Brian Bosworth for his time spent praying and visiting with him.

Also, I am grateful for the Healing Hands staff, Tara, Nikki and Kelsey for the many hours they spent with him and their wonderful care. Cindy Wessling was his private nurse that took care of him in the later stages of his illness.  He looked forward to her coming every day.
