Jan Thompson passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on December 13, 2020.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18 ^th at Lunn's. A Celebration of Jan's Beautiful Life is scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 19 ^th at Lunn's. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. To honor Jan and her love of everything Christmas, the family asks you wear something festive to the Celebration of Life and visitation.

Janice G. Thompson was born on August 3, 1942, to Gail and Selma Catlett in Jones County, Iowa. She grew up in a farming family, learning the meaning of hard work at an early age. After graduating from Olin High School, Jan put herself through St. Luke's Nursing School and became a registered nurse. Jan married Gary Thompson, her soulmate and love of her life, on September 14, 1963, at Wayne Country Lutheran Church in Monticello, Iowa.

Jan worked as an E.R. and I.C.U. nurse at Bethania Hospital, as well as a private duty nurse prior to starting A-Plus Medical Equipment with Gary in 1988. Jan and Gary devoted their lives to taking care of their patients and sold A-Plus Medical Equipment to Rotech in 2007.

Jan was steadfast in her community, volunteering countless hours to The Woman's Forum, Senior Junior Forum, Women of Rotary, The American Heart Association and Garden Club. Gary and Jan were active members of the social community, belonging to The Clavier and Carousel Clubs. Jan will be forever missed as a positive influence to many, caretaker, mentor and true, loyal friend. When describing Jan's greatest qualities, always looking to help others, a quirky sense of humor, her love to dance and sing and the amazing way she was 'always right' come immediately to mind!

Jan's favorite place to be was with her beloved best friend and soulmate, Gary-forever dancing partners, business partners and the epitome of true loves.

Jan's favorite name was "Nana" to her grandkids. Teaching life lessons and instilling her passion for art, dancing, singing, cooking and the love for life were some of her greatest gifts to them. The grandkids cherished their time with Nana, as it was always full of adventures.

Jan is survived by her husband of 57 years, Gary; daughter, Taryn and husband Steve of Austin, TX; son, Brett and wife Kelli of Aledo, TX; and grandchildren Seth Carter and wife Steph, Sam Britten and husband Nate, Lunden Hayes, Brynne Carter, Adeline Carter, Colby Knox, Hadley Thompson, Gage Hayes, Emery Thompson and Tye Hayes.

The family asks in lieu of flowers a donation in Jan's honor be made to the Wichita Falls Area Food Bank.
