Janis Elaine Marin, 66, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on September 24, 2026, in Fort Worth.

Elaine was born on August 18, 1960, in Wilbarger County, Texas, to Clarence Dean Hanley and Janice Sue Hunt. She grew up in Iowa Park, Texas, and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Midwestern State University. Though she worked as a registered nurse for only a short time, her caring spirit stayed with her throughout her life.

She had a rare ability to meet people with empathy, compassion, and mercy, making them feel seen, accepted, and loved simply by being herself. Elaine leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and connection that will live on in the many lives she touched and in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Dean Hanley and Janice Sue Hunt, and her brother, Douglas Dean Hanley.

She is survived by her five children: Shaelan Brodber; Audrey Flores and her husband, Alex; Andi DeHoyos and her husband, Trent; Roxy Marin; and Lee Marin and his wife, Kaylee. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren and her brother, Rual Swanson.

At Elaine’s request, she will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home, 2812 Midwestern Parkway, Wichita Falls, Texas. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
