Jeral Jackson, 85, passed away January 22, 2021 in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in the First Baptist Church (East Sanctuary) with Rev. Rod Payne officiating. A Graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM in the Pilot Knob Cemetery outside of Stephenville, Texas off of County Road 180 with Rev. Dennis Neal officiating.  A family visitation will be held Monday, January 25, 2021 from 6-7 PM at the funeral home. All arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Son of the late Ruby [Stone] and Samuel Robert Jackson, Jeral was born June 3, 1935 in Hamilton County, Texas. Jeral and his high school sweetheart Rowena Wood married on June 3, 1955 in Stephenville, Texas. They were blessed with over 65 years of marriage and with three sons. He was a loving "Pawpaw" to eight grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Jeral graduated from Stephenville High School in 1953 and then from Texas Tech University in 1958 with a degree in petroleum engineering. After a period in the Army Corps of Engineers, he began his career in the oil and gas industry. He worked for Texaco in Nocona. He moved his family to Wichita Falls in 1963 and worked for Stephens Engineering and Gose Petroleum before becoming Executive Vice President at Galaxy Oil Company. In 1987, he started his own company, Jeral W. Jackson Inc, where he worked alongside his wife until his death.

Jeral loved his church deeply, his friends (strangers too) but most of all spending time with his family, walking miles around Sikes Lake, supporting The Wichita Theatre with both time and finances. While his sons were young, Jeral coached youth sports teams. Jeral also spent many years serving faithfully as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls.

Along with his parents, Jeral was preceded in death by a grandson, David Dwayne Jackson.

He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife Rowena; three sons, Jeff and wife Debbie Jackson of Amarillo, Texas,Byron and wife Carol Jackson of Stephenville, Texas, and Dwayne and wife Lisa Jackson of Wichita Falls, Texas; his sister Billie Cutler and her family of Tennessee; as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
