Jimmy "Jim" Franklin Spikes, 66, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 11 ^th at Lunn's. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 12 ^th at Texoma Cowboy Church with Pastor John Riggs officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A son of the late Wanda (Wilson) and Frank Spikes, Jim was born on December 20, 1954, in Vernon, Texas. Jim made his living pulling mobile homes for over fifty years, and he loved every minute of it. He enjoyed grilling for his family and spending his weekends at the lake. Jim enjoyed fishing, working in his shop and watching Gunsmoke, John Wayne and Two and a Half Men.

Jim adored his family, but his wife Jean was the light of his life. Anytime he was near her, you could find a dazzling smile on his face. Jim was loved by many, from his Solitaire family to regular customers at P3; everyone always new Jim. His loving nature and strong work ethic will live on through his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by his sons, Jimmy Spikes, Allen Morgan and David (Poo) Morgan; and grandson, Nathaniel Ewing.

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 39 years, Jean Spikes; son, Greg Morgan of Geary, OK; daughter, Gina Martin and husband, Craig of Wichita Falls; sisters, Johnie Lou Robinson and husband, Roy of Rio Vista, TX; Linda Tucker of Weatherford, TX and Laura Maloney; grandchildren, Madison Campbell and husband, Dillon of Austin, TX; Mercedez Potts and husband, Tanner of Wichita Falls, TX; Bryce Lewis of Burkburnett, TX; Natalie Ewing of Iowa Park, TX; Dillon and Ashlyn Spikes of Burleson, TX; great-grandchildren, Paisley and Clayton Potts; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jim's favorite quote from John Wayne's movie The Cowboys is, "Slap some bacon on a biscuit and let's go. We're burning daylight."
