Joseph Anthony Przybylski
December 3, 1933 – April 28, 2025

Joseph Anthony Przybylski completed his earthly journey on Monday, April 28, 2025, and entered peacefully into the presence of his Heavenly Father, joining the saints who have gone before him. A devoted husband, father, grandfather ("Dziadz"), brother, uncle, and friend, Joe lived a life marked by faith, service, and deep love for his family and country.

Born on December 3, 1933, in Evanston, Illinois, Joe was the eldest of five children born to Joe and Jane Przybylski. He was educated in Catholic parochial schools and went on to study aeronautical engineering at the University of Illinois, where he began pursuing his lifelong passion for aviation.

In 1954, Joe joined the United States Air Force, earning his wings and commission as an officer in 1955. He served honorably in the Air Defense Command, receiving multiple commendations throughout his career, including the Distinguished Flying Cross. A notable highlight of his service was leading the flyover in Normandy on the 20th anniversary of D-Day in 1964. Joe retired from SAFB in Wichita Falls, TX, with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel after more than 20 years of dedicated service.

Joe married Mary Martin in 1955, and together they built a life grounded in love and mutual devotion until her passing in 1992. In 2001, he found companionship once again in Barbara McCarty, whom he married and cherished until her passing in 2008.

Beyond his military service, Joe remained committed to serving others. As a longtime member of the Southwest Kiwanis Club, he played a pivotal role in organizing the first Special Olympics held in Wichita Falls in 1974—an effort that even drew a visit from then-President Gerald Ford. Joe also faithfully served in multiple ministries at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church and volunteered with the Shepherd Retired Activities Office, assisting fellow retired military personnel.

Following his military retirement, Joe found a second career at Tranter Inc., where he worked for 17 years and retired as a sales manager. He took great joy in yard work, home projects, family cookouts, fishing trips with his brother Ray, and spending time outdoors.

Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wives Mary and Barbara; his parents, Joe and Jane Przybylski; his brothers Don, Paul, and Ray Przybylski; and his son, Todd Looney.

He is survived by his daughter, Kim Stuckey and her husband Marvin; his sister, Rita Swarczewski; and his grandchildren, Clifton Stuckey, Shannon Cunningham, and Megan Korves. Jeremy Looney, Teri Looney, and Kelsi Looney. Plus many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, and love that will be cherished by all who knew him.

A Wake and Visitation will be held 5:30 pm Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. A service will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 11:00 am, with a burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery possibly at a later date due to weather.
