John Wesley Nolen, 81, of Wichita Falls, passed away on July 20, 2025.

The family welcomes friends to a visitation from 6:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 24th at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 25th at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A son of late Alvie (Jones) and Lewis Edd Nolen, John was born on February 9, 1944, in Memphis, Texas. He was the youngest of 11 born to Lewis and Alvie. He spent his youth in Tulia, Texas.  He met Linda Jackson, and they were married for 24 years. They moved to Wichita Falls in 1979. John worked across many fields but will most be remembered by his skilled carpentry. John was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jackson Nolen, who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. In the years that followed, he found love and companionship with Dorothy Lossness, with whom he shared 29 years of love, life, laughter, and unwavering friendship.

He is survived by longtime love, Dorothy Losness; his children, Jeffrey Wayne Nolen, Meredith Dionne Nolen (Mallory); grandchildren, Austin Nolen, Caroline Nolen, Adlee Nolen, Landree Nolen and Knox Nolen and many other beloved family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by wife Linda Jackson Nolen, a son, Nathan Ross Nolen, and all 10 siblings, Paul Edward Nolen, Melvin Nolen, Luther Floyd Nolen, Ruby Vaughn, Dean Nolen, Charley Nolen, Raymond Nolen, Dorothy Williams, Lewis Grant "Bunk" Nolen, Sue Overton.

John will be remembered for his rugged spirit, warm heart, charming personality and the lasting bonds he built with those he loved
