John L. Ullum, 79, of Wichita Falls, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 11, 2026. A non-denominational graveside service will be held on July 31, 2026 at Burkburnett Cemetery at 11:00 AM.

Born on Halloween, 1946, he was the youngest of eleven children born to Albert and Daisy Ullum of Lebanon, OH. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1964 and joined the Air Force in 1966. He served in SE Asia during the Vietnam War and was stationed to Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, AL, where he met and married Judith Chapell. His sons, John and Jeremy, were born in 1971 and 1974 while stationed at Sheppard AFB. He continued to serve with duty stations at Elmendorf AFB, in Anchorage AK in 1976, the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO in 1980, and Sheppard AFB in 1983. He retired and was honorably discharged in 1986. He continued to serve as an instructor with the Civil Service until his retirement in 2002.

John was interested in woodworking and antique furniture restoration, having built many pieces of furniture and restoring several antiques furniture pieces.

John was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Judi, in October, 1996. He is survived by his sons John and wife Lori Dawn of Santa Clarita, CA,; Jeremy and his wife Erin of Wichita Falls; his brother Eric Ullum of Lebanon, OH; grandsons Zachary of Santa Clarita, and Jonah of Wichita Falls; his partner of 29 years, Sherry Tucker; and several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to the National Scleroderma Foundation or the Huntington's Disease Society or America.
