If we are very lucky, once in a lifetime, someone very special touches us in a way that can only be described as a gift from God. For many of us still wandering The Lord's green earth, that gift came in the form of Johnny Lee Johnston.

Johnny burst on the scene in his usual dramatic way on the 28 ^th of May, 1946. He was born to Margaret and Lamar Johnston who knew right from the start that this child, who was to be number four of six children, was "gifted" and different from the others. His siblings are Tommy Johnston, Barbara Martin, Jim Johnston, Linda Johnston and Danny Johnston.

Johnny lived a very happy childhood, all the while developing his "flare" and uniqueness that would be his gift to the world. He would spend his adult life using these talents to spread cheer and happiness to others.

Johnny graduated from Old High in 1964. He married his best friend from church and high school in 1966, Madonna Brown. They happily welcomed their daughter Tasha Dion in 1973. In 1998, Madonna and Johnny separated as the best of friends. Tasha has blessed them and the rest of us with her husband Ken Leuzinger, along with grandson, Mason and granddaughters, Ardyn and Cordelia.

In May 2000, Johnny met the man who would become his husband, Raymond Randall Henderson. What a happy union! Together Johnny and Randy owned and operated a flower shop for over 20 years called John Johnston's The Florist. Many, many happy friendships were formed there, not to mention the countless number of friends Johnny met during the 21 years he managed K-Mart of Wichita Falls.

Time and space does not allow for a reminiscent view of all of the countless fun and dear stories that only the great Johnny Johnston could have created for those of us who knew and loved him. Our precious, sweet, kind, gentle, generous and fun-loving Johnny ran into his mother's arms on December 27, 2021. She had been waiting on him for over 20 years.

Johnny, we will miss you every day of every year until the day we can run into your loving arms. We can't wait for that day! Thank you, Johnny Lee Johnston for the gift of being yourself and for loving us in the way that only you could.

Johnny is also survived by his siblings' spouses, Kathy Johnston, Chris Martin and Craig Crowell; and step-children, RaLaura and Robert.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 31 ^st at Lunn's Colonial Chapel with Rev. Wayne Moore officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service, so that friends and loved ones can visit, reminisce and share memories of our beloved Johnny. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
