Joseph Taylor Seibold, age 85, died at his home in Wichita Falls on March 18, 2025. Elaine, Joe's wife and best friend of 65 years was with him at the time of his death.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 21st, at 1:00 p.m. at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Paul Goodrich officiating. A private graveside service will precede services, under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Joseph Taylor Seibold was born on February 20, 1940, in Wichita Falls and was adopted by very loving parents, Dr. and Mrs. George J. Seibold, Jr. Joe attended Ben Franklin, Zundy and Wichita Falls Senior High School. He played football for both the Zundy Eagles and the WFHS Coyotes. His school years in Wichita Falls were full of good memories and friends who he held dear throughout his life. In 1961, he graduated with a degree in economics from Austin College in Sherman, Texas.

For most of his professional life, Joe was a banker. He began his banking career at the First Wichita National Bank in 1961. After a brief time in Arlington at the First National Bank, the family moved to New Braunfels in 1972, where he became President, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Guaranty State Bank, and its successor banks, MBank New Braunfels and Plaza Bank. He also served as Chairman and President of Financial Insurance Protection Company of Texas, an MCorp subsidiary, and as a Regional Coordinator for MCorp affiliate banks in San Antonio. From 1993, through 1996, Joe and Elaine enjoyed living in Rogers, Arkansas, where he was President, CEO and director of Farmers and Merchants Bank. After serving as financial consultant to John Newcombe and his tennis organizations, Joe joined his friend, Tom Cravens, as the Chief Operating and Director of Northwest National Bank of Arlington, Texas. Subsequent to the sale of the bank to TexasBank of Fort Worth and its successor, Compass Bank, he served as President of the bank and a member of the senior management committee for Compass Bank-Fort Worth Region. Upon retiring from an active banking career, Joe was an Advisory Director on the Development Board for the Arlington Region of Southwest Bank of Fort Worth.

Joe was very involved with many community and banking associations to include being a member of the Bank Directors Committee for the Arkansas Bankers Association and on the Foundation Board of the Northwest Arkansas Community College. In New Braunfels, he served as the president of the Industrial Development Foundation and on the Executive Committee of the Chamber of Commerce. He was a member and vice president of class IX of the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking and served on the Board of the Graduate School. In Wichita Falls, he served as the president of the Metropolitan Club and on the board of the Wichita Falls County Club and several charitable organizations.

Joe and Elaine Seibold were high school sweethearts in Wichita Falls, a city he always considered to be his home town. They spent many years traveling, playing golf together and with friends in Wichita Falls, Arlington, Horseshoe Bay, Sun City and Rogers, Arkansas. Joe always enjoyed a good game of gin rummy, especially with his friends in Arlington and Horseshoe Bay where Joe and Elaine had a weekend home that was a very special place for them.

Joe grew up in Fain Presbyterian Church and remained faithful to the church throughout much of his adult life, even while being an active member of a church in their city of residence. Upon their return to Wichita Falls in 2019, Joe and Elaine joined the First United Methodist Church.

Joe was preceded in death by his son, Steven Taylor Seibold; his parents, George and Gertrude Seibold; his mother and father in law, Pete and Louise Wyatt; Barkley, his very best dog friend of twelve years and many friends whom he knew as mentors, school mates, golfing buddies, business associates and through cherishes social relationships.

He is survived by his loving wife Elaine, Wyatt Seibold; sons, Clay, Joseph, John, Christopher; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
