Juanita Tucker Anderson, 98, passed away on February 8, 2023 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February, 13, 2023, at Lunn's Colonial Chapel with Roger Deerinwater officiating. The family will receive friends at a visitation following the service. A Graveside service will be held following the service at 3:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, in Carbon, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Juanita was born February 23, 1924, in the Pleasant Hill Community of Eastland County, Texas. She was the eldest of four children born to Robert Lee and Johnie (Hardin) Tucker. She accepted Christ and joined the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church at an early age.

Juanita was a freshman at Tarleton State when Pearl Harbor was bombed. At Tarleton she met and later married Eargle Anderson while he was serving in the Army Air Corps. They came to live in Wichita Falls after WWII. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Education Degree at Midwestern State University. Juanita taught second grade at Sam Houston School in Wichita Falls for many years, retiring in 1979.

She and Eargle were active members of Lamar Baptist Church when their health was good. They enjoyed traveling with their three grandsons, taking them from the Gulf Coast, to historic sites of Texas, to winter fun at Angel Fire in New Mexico.

After the death of her husband, she enjoyed reading and watching sports on television. She was devoted to her family and loved family dinners at her house.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, June Hicks; two brothers, Billy and wife Jackie and Bobby Tucker.

Survivors include her two sons, David Anderson and wife Debbie, Steve Anderson and wife Allison; three grandsons, Matthew Anderson and wife Anne, Jahue Anderson and wife Kelly, and Micah Anderson and wife Ashley; seven great-grandchildren, Henry, Calvin, Walter, Ryan, Emma, Nora, and Knox; several nephews, a niece, a sister-in-law Faye Tucker, and many cousins.

She will be buried next to her husband in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Eastland County, Texas.
