We sadly announce that Karen Kay Womble, 75, of Wichita Falls, has passed away in the early hours on Saturday the 18 ^th of 2021.

We will openly receive family and friends of Kay for a visitation Monday evening, December 27 ^th , 6:00 -7:00pm to honor her life. Graveside services will be held Tuesday morning, December 28 ^th at 11:00am, located at Rosemont Cemetery, led by Larry Shields of Faith Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Kay was born on September 2, 1946, in Ringling, Oklahoma. She was the eldest daughter of the late Florita Meadows (mother) and Bill Alexander (father). Kay graduated from Loco High School in 1964. She obtained her Art Teaching degree from Southeastern OSU in 1971. She also pursued an MA in education prior to motherhood.  Kay first taught in Ardmore, then later at the WFISD for several years on a supply basis after raising two children. Kay lovingly devoted her life to her faith, family and community. Kay was an avid landscape water-color painter, finding beauty in nature, especially trees.  Alongside her husband of 49 years, she openly shared her knowledge and skillset within her involvement in 4-H, the Texas-Labo Exchange Program and her church family of Central Christian and later Faith Baptist.

Along with her parents, Kay was preceded in death by mother-in-law Ruth Womble and a niece Bre'anne Baxter.

She is survived by her devoted husband William Womble; son Marcus Womble and daughter Wendi Kay Womble; granddaughters Audrey Brianne Womble and Freya Kay Gauch; her sisters Jodi Watson, Connie Gail Hammer and brother Mike Alexander; nieces Tina Gail Edwards and Sara Kay Alexander, nephew Toby Hammer and Conner Alexander, and the many beloved cousins and in-laws belonging in Kay's life.

A devoted Christian, wife and mother, Kay's humbleness and grace, her compassion and kindheartedness has reached many throughout her life. We kindly ask that for those desiring, memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
