Kay Barrett, 89 of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on February 16, 2025.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home with Bobby Gonzales officiating. The family welcomes friends to a visitation immediately following the service.

Kay was born on June 3, 1935, in Guthrie, Oklahoma, to Clarence Robertson and Helen Bachman Robertson.  She grew up in Wichita Falls graduating from Wichita Falls High School where she loved singing in the choir. After spending many years between McAllen, Beaumont and Houston, Texas, Kay returned to Wichita Falls in 1988.

Kay's faith in Jesus Christ shaped who she was and how she lived.  After returning to Wichita Falls she was very active at both Lamar Baptist Church and Southside Baptist Church.  She loved people and was always happiest when surrounded by her many wonderful friends.

Most of her career was spent working for the University of Corpus Christi, Lamar University and Midwestern University where she retired in 2000.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Helen Robertson.  She is survived by her children Donna Coulter and husband Bill and Danny Barrett and wife Melanie along with four grandchildren, Andrew Schulke Barrett, Michael Coulter and wife Veronica, Adam Coulter and wife Megan, and Hannah Huf Coulter and wife Rosie.  Her great grandchildren are Jude Coulter, Crawford Coulter and Emma Coulter.
