Kayanne Jordan Smith (Ellingson), 74, left her place here on Earth to join her Heavenly Father, on June 26, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2nd at Lunn's in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 3rd at Lunn's Chapel with Pastor Gary Demmitt officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Kayanne was born on June 7th, 1951, in Graham, Texas, to her parents, Joe Jordan and Theresia Jordan. She moved to Wichita Falls with her parents and brother when she was a small child. She graduated from Old High School in 1969 and went on to attend Midwestern State University, studying Early Childhood Education, specializing in special education. She joined the Sigma Kappa sorority and was a life long member. Kayanne graduated from MSU and began her teaching career at several elementary schools in Wichita Falls, then Henrietta, Sheppard Air Force Base and later in Denton. While attending college, she met the first love of her life, Larry Kenneth Ellingson. They would later marry and celebrate 25 wonderful years together before his sudden passing.

Kayanne was lucky enough to have met the second love of her life, Johnny Ray Smith a few years later. They were united in marriage and spent 22 wonderful years together in Bridgeport, Texas, prior to her passing.

While in Bridgeport, Kayanne and Johnny attended Pleasant View Baptist Church, where she started the women's Bible study group. The group grew from just a few women to now having over 20 in attendance every week.

Kayanne was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Theresia Jordan and her first husband Larry Ellingson. She leaves behind her loving husband Johnny Smith; son, Kenneth Ellingson and wife Nichole; daughter Amanda Ward and husband Brandon; grandchildren, Jordan, Leighton, Tyler and Lauren, great-granddaughter Julianna; her brother Larry Jordan and wife Becky; along with nieces Valerie and Jennifer. We also can't forget about her "doodle-bug" puppy Juliet.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you make a donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Wichita Falls.
