It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Ray Bowling, who left us on Sunday, July 28, 2024, to go to his heavenly home. Kenn was a beloved brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose legacy of love and loyalty will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

Kenn was born on March 10, 1943, in Panco, Kentucky, to McKinley Bowling and Hollie Arnett.  He spent his childhood in Indianapolis, Indiana, and joined the army in 1966, serving for three years as a missile launcher.  Kenn received an honorable discharge while stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas.

After his military service, Kenn began a career in insurance and moved to Dallas, Texas. In 1970, while working for an insurance company in Dallas, he met Joy Carrington from Seymour, Texas.  They fell in love and married on November 19, 1971. Over the past 53 years they have worked together in various capacities.

Kenn and Joy eventually moved to Abilene, Texas, where Kenn founded his own insurance agency, The Benefit Exchange.  Beyond his professional achievements, Kenn was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was a steadfast presence in the lives of his children, Summer and Brandon, rarely missing any of their events. Kenn coached them in several sports and later became their biggest supporter from the stands.

Kenn is survived by his loving wife, Joy Bowling, who stood by his side through all of life's joys and challenges. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.  Their most cherished memory is from a recent trip to Port Aransas where dad put his feet in the ocean and enjoyed the time with family.

He is the proud father of three children: Kenneth Bowling II and wife Elizabeth;  Summer Bynum and her husband Jeremy; and Brandon Bowling and his wife Greta. Kenn took immense pride in his children's accomplishments and was always there to offer unwavering support and guidance.

As a grandfather, Kenn found great joy in the lives of his grandchildren:  Tristan, Ethan, Avan, and Adalynn.  He cherished every moment spent with them, sharing stories, wisdom, and love that will be remembered for generations to come.

Kenn was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, twins, Layah and Maverick, who brought even more light and happiness into his life.  His legacy will live on through them, as they carry forward the values and love he instilled in his family.

His surviving Indiana family members are his sister, Caroyln Anderson and husband, Richard as well as their children Richard, Steven, and Vicki; and his aunt Phyllis Davis.

He is also cherished by Joy's family: sister-in-law Judy Mitchell of Wichita Falls; Linda Reddell of Munday; brother-in-law Trey Carrington (Linda) of Throckmorton; sister-in-law Katie Pritchard of Seymour; brother-in-law Dennis Carrington of Seymour; and brother-in-law Rance Carrington (Stormie) of Seymour; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kenn is preceded in death by his parents,his in-laws Willie and Delphine Carrington; and brothers-in-law Jimmy Reddell and James Mitchell.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date and time.  The family held a private viewing on Monday, July 29, followed by cremation at the request of Kenn.
