Larry Joe Harney, 70, of Archer City, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, surrounded by family.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12th at Lunns Chapel, 2812 Midwestern Parkway, Wichita Falls. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Joe was born September 7, 1953 in Wichita Falls, Texas and grew up in Archer City where he learned to live and love the cowboy way of life instilled in him by his father.

He graduated from Archer City High School in 1972, and went on to the Oklahoma Farrier College in Sperry, Oklahoma. He lived the life of a cowboy spending many years traveling around working for numerous ranches meeting friends that remained like family. He was a well known blacksmith and cowboy cook in his later years.

Joe will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dollie (Bowling) and James "Jack" Harney.

He is survived by his daughters Chelseay Harney of Seymour, Texas, and Haley Harney of Dean, Texas; and his three grandsons, Heston Harney of Seymour, Tilden Hampton of Dean, and Hadley Maddox of Kingston, Oklahoma.
