Leroy Alfred Middle went to join his Lord in heaven on Wednesday, April 12, 2023.

Leroy was a faithful member of Grace Church in Wichita Falls, Texas, where Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on April 21st with Pastors Reggie Coe and Joe Cook officiating.

Leroy was born to Dortha and Ted Middle September 19, 1940, in Tucson, Arizona, the first of two children. The family moved to Austin, Colorado in 1954 where Leroy completed high school at Delta High in 1958. Instead of pursuing his scholarship to Western State University in Gunnison, he decided to join the Air Force.

Leroy married his high school sweetheart Alice Bruner September 24, 1959.   He completed Basic Training in San Antonio and was assigned to Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque. Leroy and Alice were blessed with two children. Daughter, Vickie Lynn was born September 12, 1960, in Delta Colorado, and son, Robert Wayne born May 19, 1963, in Sands, Michigan.

Over the next 25 years the Air Force life took them to many new places all over the world including: Turkey (1960), K.I. Sawyer AFB, Upper Michigan (1963); Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, Arizona (1966), Nakon Phanon, Thailand (1968); George AFB in Victorville, California (1969); Armed Force Examining station in Salt Lake City, Utah (1971); Armed Forces Examining Station in Phoenix, Arizona (1972); Bitburg, Germany (1975). He transferred to Sheppard AFB in Texas in 1978, retiring in 1983.  Leroy was awarded many medals for his distinguished career including the Bronze Star, Valor, Presidential Commendations and Leadership. Leroy's distinguished Air Force career came to a close at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, Texas, in 1983. After the Air Force, Leroy worked for Civil Service until 1990 and traded it all in for the retired life.

Leroy's and Alice's son Robert and wife Tricia blessed them with beautiful granddaughters Madison (1990) and McKenzie (1993). McKenzie and husband Jeff Lewis blessed Leroy with a beautiful great-grandson, Lancer (2022).

Leroy loved each day with his bride Alice, doing yard work and playing golf every opportunity. He loved and cherished his granddaughters (Madison & McKenzie) and enjoyed going to their basketball and volleyball games. The most recent addition to his family is his great grandson Lancer, who brings him so much pride and joy.

He was preceded by his father Theodore in death in 1976; his mother Dortha in 2009; and sister Sharon in 2019.

Leroy is survived by his loving and faithful wife Alice of Wichita Falls, Texas; daughter Vickie Lynn of Lebanon, Oregon; son Bobby and wife Tricia of Highland Village, Texas; granddaughter Madison Withrow and husband Ryan; granddaughter McKenzie Lewis and husband Jeff Lewis; great-grandson Lancer Craig Lewis, and his beloved favorite dog, Toby.
