Linda Mae Acree, 82, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on March 4, 2026.

Interment will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 9th, at Rosemont Cemetery.

A daughter of the late Mary (Hunter) and S.D. Acree, Linda was born on March 2, 1944, in Kensett, Arkansas.  Linda took care of thousands of people in her 30 plus years as an LVN from working in the nursery at Wichita General Hospital, working at Vernon State Hospital, dozens of nursing homes across Wichita County and with several private duty cases. As a single mother, she often worked two or three jobs at a time to support her children. She was so driven to help that she also frequently volunteered for the Red Cross to assist in not only disaster relief efforts but also in donating gallons of blood over her lifetime. Even after she became disabled, she continued to volunteer for the Wichita Falls Founders Lion's Club every year during the county fair until she was physically unable to attend. Linda's world revolved around her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and everything she accomplished was for her family.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Mary and SD; brother Elze Lee; and  sisters Lola Mae and Gallie Gene.

She is survived by…sons Steven Lane and wife Dee; David Lane and wife Becky; daughters Tammy Smith and Linda Gibbons;  9 Grandchildren, Wesley Withrow, Robert Lane, Bradley Lane, Jack Lane, Justin Lane, Jodie Lane, and Kortney Lane-Allen; and 5 great-grandchildren, Logan Lane, Whest Lane, Dayton Allen, and Atlas Lane.
