Lisa Kathleen McBride passed away June 1, 2023, at the age of 49 while she and her husband, Charles Winget McBride, were cycling together.

Lisa was not only a wonderful mother, wife, and friend, but also a very generous and loving person to everyone she knew. Born on April 17, 1974, in Wichita Falls, Lisa was the daughter of Rev. Robert H. Brown, Jr and Gayle Ann Sheker Brown. She was educated in WFISD schools attending McGaha Elementary School, Barwise, and Wichita Falls High School, graduating in 1992.

Lisa was a member of a Girl Scout troop for many years and was active in sports all throughout her life. She started playing soccer at a very young age and even joined a men's soccer team in high school as there was not a women's team. Throughout both middle school and high school, she also played volleyball, basketball, and ran track. Along with her brother, Lisa was also involved in BMX racing.

Lisa graduated from Midwestern State University which is where her cycling career began as she competed with the college cycling team.Lisa then joined the Wichita Falls Running Club where she met the love of her life, Charlie. Lisa and Charlie got married in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, on September 19, 2003.

Together they traveled around the US participating in triathlons, marathons, and many other racing events.  Her biggest accomplishment was completing an Ironman in 2018.

Lisa and Charlie's daughter, Natalie, feel that Lisa was the "greatest and most amazing mom anyone could ever have." And it was clear that she was passionate about both her family and her love for cycling.

Lisa is survived by daughter Natalie McBride, Mother Gayle Brown, brother Robbie Brown and his wife Ann Boulom-Brown, nephews Kaden Brown and Austin Brown, nieces Keegan Roquebert and her husband David Roquebert and Alexandria Boulom. She also has a stepdaughter Cory Meharey with her husband Tommy Meharey and three kids Ezra, Aurora, and Sahara.

The family would like to thank everyone who has reached out to them with love and care; it emphasizes just how adored Lisa and Charlie were to the community.

Memorials can be sent to Christ Academy or the cycling organization, 90 for Dad, where the money will be donated to hospice.

A come and go Celebration of Life will be held for Charlie and Lisa McBride on June 17th from 2:18 P.M. to 6:18 P.M. at the McBride home, 3691 St Hwy 79N.
