Lynda Gay Brown, age 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 27, 2023. She was born in Dallas, Texas on January 16, 1945, to Oscar Klein and Madeline Brand.

A warm listening ear to many, Lynda built decades-long friendships in her 50 years of work as a hairdresser. She loved the relationships through her work so much that she didn't retire until 2021. She used her skilled hands to transform not only hair, but the way friends felt about themselves. She had an extraordinary ability to bring out the beauty in everyone she touched.

Lynda was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Wichita Falls for over 40 years. She loved to worship Jesus with songs like "It Is Well With My Soul" and "Precious Lord Take My Hand." A favorite Bible passage of Lynda's was Jeremiah 29:11-13, "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart."

In her quiet way, Lynda taught family and friends the power of a soft word, a listening ear, and a compassionate heart. She always loved to play games and laughed easily. She enjoyed attending concerts at MSU with friends. Her presence brought a sense of calm and assurance to many.

Lynda was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Cliff Brown, and her son, Todd Weir. Lynda will be buried at Crestview Memorial Park.

Lovingly known by many as "Nannie," she is survived by her two daughters, Julie Robbins and husband Mack, and Leesa Sorge and husband Scott; seven grandchildren, Grace Wallace and husband Zach, Maddie Knecht and husband Sam, Laura Mealey and husband Kyle, Sara Sorge, Tim Sorge and wife Megan, Tyler Weir and wife Sami, and Tanner Weir; as well as six great-grandchildren, Llewyn and Maeve Wallace, Dorothy and Lorraine Knecht, Hallie Sorge, and Andi Weir.In her final weeks of earthly life, she displayed for others courage, compassion, and the hope of heavenly life with her loving God. All are welcome to join her funeral service at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, June 1,
2023, at 1:00 PM, celebrating Lynda's faithful life and her homecoming to be with her Lord. Visitation will be at the same location on Wednesday, May 31 from 6:00pm - 7:00pm.
