Margaret Luetta Nelson passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024.  She was 82 years old.  Margaret was born on July 9, 1942 in Durant, Oklahoma.  Her parents were George J. Prentice and Molly Embry Prentice.

A visitation will be held from 6 PM to 7 PM, Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, Texas.  Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Liberty Baptist Church of Wichita Falls, Texas.  Burial will follow at Burkburnett Cemetery.

Margaret graduated from Big Pasture High School in 1960.  She was an outstanding basketball player and selected for the All Regional Team in 1959.  Margaret Luetta married Robert B. Nelson on October 22, 1959.  Together they raised their four children in Burkburnett.   She worked in the Home Health Care field for many years and enjoyed spoiling her clients with homemade baked goods.   She loved the Lord and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Nelson, her granddaughter, Stephanie Nelson, her parents, and siblings, Billy Prentice, Wendell Prentice, Wallace Prentice, Mary Lee Roland, Juanita Nix, and Paula Prentice.

Among those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Robert B. Nelson, her daughters, Brenda LaBrie, Amanda Haynes (Randal), sons, Richie Nelson (Sandy), Mark Nelson (Hannah), 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and her siblings, Dean Prentice (Jane), Alice Guilot (Johnny), Aubrey Prentice (Becky), Margie Rhodes, G. W. Prentice, sister-in law, Emalena Derr, and many other extended family members and friends.

Our family appreciates the devoted care provided for our loved one by the staff at Texhoma Christian Care Center and Hospice of Wichita Falls.
