Margie Janell Stoll Griffin, 90, of Wichita Falls, TX passed away on August 26, 2024.

Janell was born on April 1, 1934 on the family farm outside of Manitou, Oklahoma to Jake and Rebecca Stoll. She was the first of four children born to the couple. Janell was always a proud Oklahoman, noting the farm was in her blood.

Janell graduated from Manitou High School in Manitou, Oklahoma in 1951. Her class was one of the largest at the time, with a whooping 12 graduates. Janell, ever determined, graduated a year early.

After many years of searching, Janell found the love of her life with Jack Griffin. They were married in May of 1990. For nine years, they enjoyed a life together full of adventure and excitement. Even after Jack's passing in 1999, Janell still saw Jack as the love of her life. Everyone who knew them agreed, they didn't have nearly enough time together.

Janell's greatest triumph was in the love of her many family members. Her greatest joy came from being surrounded by her loving family. Janell was the proud mother of Paula Compton (late husband Ronald Compton), of Wichita Falls, TX and Nancy Harmon of Wichita Falls, TX. Janell was the beloved grandmother of two granddaughters, LeeAnn Marks (and husband Tad Marks) of Burleson, TX and Courtney Maiorana (husband Mario Maiorana) of Arlington, TX. Janell was the treasured great grandmother to Emilee Marks, Olivia Janell Marks, Isabella Maiorana and Martin Maiorana. Janell enjoyed a close relationship with her brother Paul Stoll (and wife Brenda Stoll) of Hurst, TX. Janell was the adored Aunt to two nephews and two nieces and a multitude of great nieces and nephews, three of which were named after her.  Janell was always proud to note she had 50 first cousins.

Janell moved to Wichita Falls in 1960 and began her professional career. Janell started with Pistocco Cadilac before venturing off to work for the City of Wichita Falls. Janell served in the Accounting Department and Purchasing Department before starting her greatest adventure. Janell honorably served as the Manager of the Wichita Falls Airport for over 30 years, retiring in 1995. Janell enjoyed retirement to the fullest. She filled her days with adventures with Jack, often enjoying drives in the country. Janell also filled her time with cooking many a family dinner, growing gorgeous gardens, visiting with friends, reading and traveling.

Janell was a faithful member of Faith Baptist Church where she sang with the Faith Singers Senior choir and was a member of the Sarah Sunday School Class. Janell felt her church family was just as important as her other family.

Janell is preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Rebecca Stoll, sister Phylis Ann, brother Gary Stoll, beloved husband Jack Griffin and Son-in-law Ronald Compton.

Visitation will be held Monday, September 2, 2024 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home, Wichita Falls, TX. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Shields officiating. Interment will be in Crestview Cemetery, Wichita Falls, TX.

Memorial donations in Janell Griffin's memory may be directed to Hospice of Wichita Falls who took excellent care of her in her final days.
