Marian Elizabeth (Maribeth) Donart, passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the age 93.

Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10 ^th at Floral Heights United Methodist Church with Rev. Paul Goodrich officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Maribeth was born on August 9, 1929, to Bill and Mae Newkirk in Independence, Kansas. She and Larry Donart married on August 13, 1950, and enjoyed 44 years together until his death in 1994.

Maribeth earned a Bachelor' Degree in Education at Kansas State College in Pittsburg, Kansas, and taught kindergarten and second grade for over 30 years. She especially enjoyed her years teaching at Booker T. Washington during the 70's in Wichita Falls. Maribeth was a fantastic cook, and cooking for others was one of the things she enjoyed most. Upon entering her house, you soon learned that Maribeth loved all things purple! She was a lifelong Methodist and attended Floral Heights United Methodist Church where she volunteered in the food pantry.

Maribeth was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Donart; son, Gary Donart; siblings, Jack Newkirk and Marjorie Elliott; niece, Martha Jane Burgette; and nephew, Bill Newkirk.

She is survived her son, Lynn Donart and wife, Tammie; and her daughter, Melanie Hadderton and husband, Carey all of Wichita Falls, TX; sister, Jane Cotterman of Centerville, OH; daughter-in-law, Linda Young of Saginaw, TX; brother-in-law, Gerald Elliott of Ft. Scott, KS; grandchildren, Brady Donart and wife, Syna; Chelsea LaMarche and husband, Jeff; Shelby Hernandez and husband, Adrian; Garrett Donart, Landry Hadderton and wife, Sarah; and Beau Hadderton and wife, Brea. In addition, she is survived by seven great-grandchildren: Jayce and Jaxyn Donart; Kynslee, Kruz and Konner Hernandez; and Briar and Berklee Hadderton. Maribeth also leaves behind nephews, Tom and David Elliott; Jonathan Newkirk and Mike Cotterman; and nieces, Susan Cotterman and Amy Elliott; and numerous great-nephews and nieces.
