Marilyn Gann Oden was born on July 25, 1932, in Marysville of Cooke County, Texas. She passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024, at the age of 91 surrounded by family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 8, 2024, in Lunn's Colonial Chapel with her sons officiating. Burial will be at 3:00 PM in the Veale Creek Cemetery in Ivan, Texas (Stephens, County). A family visitation will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024, in Lunn's Colonial Chapel from 5-6 PM.  .

Marilyn met W. A. Gann, Jr., while attending North Texas University in Denton. They were married from June 15, 1951, to March 11, 1988, when W. A. passed away. She married Louis Oden in September, 1996, and was married to him until Louis passed away in September of 2005.

Three of her children and one great grandchild preceded her in death - Weldon Andrew, Laura Beth, Clinton Troy, and Seth Hunter. Marilyn is survived by four children - Carol Joy (married to Jay Conner), Nolan Keith, Gilbert Thomas, and Joe David (married to Lisa Gann). Fourteen grandkids called her Grandmommie, and seven great grandchildren loved playing with the toys she kept for them on Wyneth Drive.

Marilyn was a member of the Wichita Falls Church Of Christ. .

People were Marilyn's passion, and her house was known for bursting at the seams with guests. Volleyball parties, graduation roasts, and singings were occasions where everyone was invited. Her Sunday lunches were well known both for the roast and potatoes as well as the crowds. Marilyn was a wonderful family historian who knew every kid's and grandkids' birthday, preferred snack, and favorite games. An avid traveler, Marilyn never turned down a road trip whether to the west coast of California and the east coasts of Florida and N Carolina, or for a hamburger at the closest Dairy Queen. Her hobbies included table games, reading, perusing family pictures, and entertaining friends and family. Marilyn worked as a clerk at English Pharmacy for 23 years and loved taking care of customers. She was a room mother numerous times and was a lifetime member of the PTA.
