Marsha De Lance passed away peacefully and into the arms of her family and friends on the "other side" early in the morning of December 31, 2025. A memorial service in her honor will be held at 10:00 on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 4325 York St, Wichita Falls, TX.

Marsha was born into the loving home of Albert E. Wise and Virginia Madison Wise on December 23, 1946. She shared that Idaho Falls home with two beloved sisters, Sherry Dawn Roach and Alana Jo Wise. For her entire life, Marsha was a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ, strove continually to follow in His paths, and to serve faithfully in her church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her devotion to the Savior was evidenced daily in her role as a loving daughter and sister, then as wife to her beloved husband of 59 years, Richard Henry Lance, and then as mother to her children Richard F. Lance (Christina), Angela D. Calhoon (Wayne), and James A. Lance (Chelsea). Marsha was a loving grandmother to 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and a beloved aunt and great-aunt.

Following many formative, memorable years in Idaho, including attending Idaho Falls High School, Marsha moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, with her family, eventually graduating from Western High School. She met Richard, home on leave from the Army in the spring of 1966, in the library of the church's University of Nevada Las Vegas Institute building. They were married for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple two months later on August 12, 1966. She carefully, joyfully, and faithfully watched over her husband and children for many years while living in Huachuca City, AZ, Las Vegas and Reno, NV, southern California, and Abilene, San Antonio, and Wichita Falls, TX. Over the course of her 79 years in mortality, Marsha blessed many lives, looking after aging parents and other family members, serving faithfully in many church callings, including leadership responsibilities for the Relief Society, primary, and family history research, and being a true friend. She was famous among her children for having a detective-class mind and being a terrific word game opponent. She was an excellent cook, skilled artist, seamstress, and crocheter, and an avid reader. She was in charge of teaching her children to fish. Her gospel knowledge was deep and her testimony unshakable.

In addition to her husband and children (and their spouses), Marsha is survived by her sister Sherry D. Roach (Bill), grandchildren James Woody Calhoon, Marissa Palmer, Jacob Calhoon, Joshua Calhoon, Joseph Lance, Hyrum Lance, Spencer Lance, Porter Lance, Elder Samuel Lance, Anna Leigh Meyer, Elder Ewan Lance, Elder Jonathan Lance, and Matthias Lance, and great-grandchildren Jace, Oliver, Todd, Miles, and Isla.
