Mary Ann Adams was born in Omaha, NE on December 2, 1936 the only child of Tom and Dorothy Davitt of Stanton NE. She died January 26, 2022 at the age of 85. Mary Ann and her family moved to Wichita Falls at age 2. She attended public school in Wichita Falls graduating from Wichita Falls High School in 1954. Mary Ann graduated from MSU in 1958 with a BBA. She was a member of the Spurettes which became the Alpha Phi Sorority.

While attending MSU Mary Ann and George began dating and were married Sept 3rd, 1958. Mary Ann and George moved to Philadelphia in 1960 and lived there for two years, while George served in the Army. Upon returning to Wichita Falls, Mary Ann quickly became involved in local activities. The Junior League, Heritage Society, Wichita Falls Symphony League, Cotillion Club, Claviers Club and Women's Forum.

In 1981 Mary Ann and George became involved with the newly created International Friendship Program for the NATO pilot training. For twenty years they sponsored the German and Norwegian pilots as host for the program and as quintessential Texas ambassadors. Mary Ann served for many years as a docent at First United Methodist Church. Mary Ann was known as the ultimate volunteer.

She was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She and George were married for 63 years. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Davitt and father Tom Davitt; son George R. Adams Jr.; and daughter Mary Allison. She is survived by her husband George;  daughter Melissa Adams of Dallas;  son Richard Adams of Dallas; granddaughters, Sarah Adams Voskaya of Denver CO, Olivia Adams of Kyle, TX and Oliver Adams of Dallas.

A Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM, Friday, February 4, 2022 in Lunn's Colonial Chapel with Rev. John Dillard officiating. A visitation will follow the service at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
