Mary Anne Lane, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dedicated nurse, passed away peacefully at 3:42 a.m. on Christmas morning, December 25, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 90 years old and lived a truly blessed life.

Mary Anne was born on August 18, 1935, to Frank Wood and Doris Wolfe Wood in Fort Worth, Texas.

She met the love of her life, Jack Lane, in 1950. They were united in marriage on November 17, 1950, in Henrietta, Texas, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love, faith, and devotion.

They were blessed with three loving sons: Larry (1954), Jon (1958), and Lance (1960).

Becoming a nurse was Mary Anne's lifelong dream. After her boys were old enough to attend school, she enrolled in nursing school to pursue that calling. She proudly became a member of the final graduating class of Registered Nurses at Wichita General Hospital in 1970. Shortly after graduating, she began her nursing career working for the family business, Lane's Nursing Home, where her compassion and dedication touched countless lives.

Following her retirement from nursing, Mary Anne jumped headfirst into her favorite hobby—sewing. She was exceptionally talented and quickly became well known for her creations. What began as sewing for her grandchildren soon grew into a much-loved source for handmade gifts for Christmas, birthdays, babies, and many other special occasions.

She was a graduate of Wichita Falls High School and a longtime member of First Assembly of God Church where she sang in the choir.

Mary Anne and Jack shared 69 years of marriage before God called Jack home in March of 2020.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Doris Wood, and her brothers, Frank Wood Jr. and Rev. Dr. John Wood.

She is survived by her loving sons: Larry Lane; Jon Lane and wife Jana; and Lance Lane and wife Pam.

Her grandchildren include D'dee and husband Landon Schaffner; Toby Lane; Caleb Lane and wife Lauryn; Laci Lane; Landon Lane and fiancée Laney; Jadon Lane; Logan Lane and Tanner Lane and wife Tayler.

Her great-grandchildren are Connor Schaffner and wife Elizabeth; Caden Schaffner; Evan Lane; Millie Lane and Charlie Lane.

She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Berna Dene Lane, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
