Mary Agnes Cuba Musil, 100, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on March 12th, 2025.

A rosary will be held at 9:30 a.m. and a funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15th, 2025, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Megargel, Texas. Officiants will be Father Bose Jujuvarapu, HGN, Deacon Jim Bindel, and Deacon Jim Novak. Interment will be held at the Megargel Cemetery following the service.

Mary was the sixth of twelve children born to her parents, John Cuba and Rosalie Darilek Cuba. She was born on January 21, 1925, in Megargel, Texas, and recently celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends.

She was an excellent cook and was well known for her delicious desserts–kolache, pies, cakes, cookies, puddings, and breads–all lovingly made. From the family garden, she enjoyed canning all sorts of vegetables and jellies. Her pastimes included quilt-making, needle point, cross-stitching, and sewing. Researching our family genealogy was of great interest to her. She loved to read novels, often completing a book in just a few days. Viewing fall foliage on trips to Colorado was among her favorite vacation experiences.

Participation in the church was a priority and comfort, whether it was attending daily Mass, meeting with her Circle, or helping in the Altar Society.

Mary's greatest joy was her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Rosalie Cuba; her husband, Emory Musil; and her sons, John Kevin Musil and Stephen Musil. She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Lydia Cuba, Angeline Hajek, and  Rose Cuba; and her brothers, OJ Cuba, Joe Cuba, Stanley Cuba, and Jim Cuba.

Mary is survived by her children, Patricia Smith, Paula Gilbert, David Musil, and Timothy Musil, and also her siblings, Johnnie Cuba, Frances Quinlan, Georgia Hall, and Henry Cuba. She is also survived by her many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary always enjoyed being surrounded by children, who found great joy playing with the toys she kept in the trunk on the sunporch. She also held dear her many in-laws, extended family members, and friends.
