Mary Kathleen Woodward

September 2, 1956 – February 19, 2025

Mary Kathleen Woodward, a beacon of warmth, wisdom, and love, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. Born on September 2, 1956, Kathy lived a rich and vibrant life for 68 years, filled with the joy of stories, the bonds of family, and a devotion to those she held dear. She was an incredible aunt to her nieces and nephews.

Kathy's love for books was a thread that wove through her entire life. She was an avid reader and a frequent reader of science fiction. She found solace, adventure, and inspiration within the pages of countless novels, biographies, and classics. She attended North Texas State University with a degree in Education where she met her husband Charles Woodward. Her passion for literature not only shaped her own world but also touched the lives of others during her time as a high school drama teacher with a gift for igniting curiosity and a quiet confidence in her students. She is survived by her husband of almost 39 years, Charles Woodward, Charles' sister Susan Parks, and her four children. She is also survived by her siblings William James Lewis Jr., James Edward Lewis, Teresa McGaughey, Rita Rorie, Patrick Lewis, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents William James and Rita Dolores Lewis.

A memorial service will be held on Monday 3 March 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Graveside service will be 1:00 PM on Tuesday 4 March 2025.
