Milburn Ellis Nutt, Jr., a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, died peacefully at his home on September 26, 2026, after a full life of 93 years. He was born January 2, 1933, in Wichita Falls, the son of Milburn E. Nutt Sr. and Lucille (Smith) Nutt.

Milburn attended The University of Texas for his BA and JD degrees. He was drafted into the United States Army during law school and served in an artillery battery unit. His military service strengthened qualities that would remain evident throughout his life - focus, discipline and dedication. His return to UT law school is where he met Carol Fisher, his beloved wife of 66 years. They have always resided in Wichita Falls, cherishing the many relationships with their families, friends, and community.

Milburn began his career as a practicing attorney. His love for finance and investing later led him to become an entrepreneur and commercial real estate investor. Always a lawyer at heart, he used his knowledge and experience to develop a thorough and accomplished estate plan for his family.

Milburn generously shared his skills and talents in community leadership, serving on the Midwestern State University Board of Regents and various bank and church boards. He was actively involved in the beginnings of Presbyterian Manor and the House of Hope, serving as President of the Board for many years. Most important to him was his time on the American Bank & Trust Board where he is regarded as a founder and mentor of the Trust Department.

He enjoyed his time with family, friends and pups in Angel Fire, NM and various cabins on Possum Kingdom Lake. He graciously hosted vacations with his children and their families which cultivated close bonds and happy memories.

In addition to his parents and sister, Virginia Nutt Jones, he was predeceased by his son, Leslie Kintner Nutt. Surviving in addition to his wife, Carol, is his daughter, Alison Nutt Boyce and her husband, Dryden of Wichita Falls and daughter-in-law, Heidi Nutt of Wichita Falls. His four grandchildren: Sydney Nutt, Garrett Nutt and his wife, Amberly, Patrick Boyce and Parker Boyce. His nephews and niece: Kyle Jones and his wife, Karen, Clay Jones; Roger Hanks and Graham Young.

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the service, dedication and love from his cherished caregivers, Kimberly Everidge and Reyanne Garcia. Additionally, we thank Healing Hands Home Health and Hospice for their excellent care.

The visitation will be on Monday, October 5th, 6:00-7:00 P.M. at Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home, 2812 Midwestern Pkwy. A service of remembrance will be held on Tuesday, October 6th, 11:00 A.M. in the East Sanctuary of First Baptist Church,1200 9th Street. Burial will be held privately by the family.
