.          Nancy Eliot Keith Gillespie passed away on Wednesday, February 19 in Wichita Falls, Texas surrounded by family.  She was born on March 7, 1931, in Port Arthur, Texas to Cecil Stuart Keith and Ida Porter Hitchcock. She married Ralph Harold Gillespie on April 4, 1953 in Port Neches, Texas.

Nancy attended Jefferson High School in Port Arthur where she was in the band, was band sweetheart, and played tennis. She obtained a B.A. in Library Science from the University of Texas in Austin and was a lifelong fan of the Texas Longhorns.   Nancy was the librarian at Sheppard Elementary School in Wichita Falls for many years.

Our mom loved and put God first in her life. Loved her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her church, and her friends.  Mom loved flowers and loved to garden.  She loved to watch for her favorite birds and was an avid sports fan.   A wonderful mother, who never missed any event that any of us was participating in  Every basketball, football and baseball game, choir, cheerleading, track meet, etc.   Mom loved to pray for her family and friends and and was always available if any of us needed encouragement or guidance.  She served faithfully at her church for many years and planted and cared for the flowers in front of the church every week.  Our mom displayed great faith in God all of her life and we know that she is now rejoicing in heaven.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John (Jack) Keith.

She is survived by Jeannie Keith, her sister-in-law, and Nancy's 4 children: Thad Gillespie and wife Kerstin of Liberty Hill, TX; Brian Gillespie and wife Linda of Krum, TX; Bob Gillespie, of Wichita Falls and Karen Harris and husband John of Dallas, TX.  Nancy also has fourteen grandchildren: Kyle Gillespie and wife Tiffany; Lauren Jankovich and husband Patrick; Ryan Gillespie and fiancé Betty, Connor Gillespie; Quentin Gillespie and partner Chloe, Jack Gillespie and wife Nicole; Lisa Gillespie and husband Andrew Gallagher, Jamie Martin and husband Nick, Shawn Gillespie and wife Leslie, Paige Gillespie; Garrett Gillespie, Katie Gillespie; Taylor Harris and wife Heather, Payton Harris and wife Anais Nussbaumer Harris.  She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren including a great-granddaughter due March 16th.

The entire family expresses deepest gratitude to the nurses, doctors and staff at The Hospice Center in Wichita Falls.  We especially want to thank Sunday, Anna, Amalia, and the many other caring nurses who cared and loved on mom for the 31 days she was there.

Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM at Lunn's funeral home on March 1st, 2025, followed by a Celebration of Nancy's life at 1:00 at Lunn's funeral home.
