Nathan Richard Pruett, 81, of Wichita Falls, passed away on December 29, 2023.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 5th at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 5820 Southwest Pkwy, Wichita Falls, Texas, 76310, with Rick Summerlin officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. The family invites you to join them in paying tribute to their Daddy and Poppy by donning Hawaiian shirts (which he wore daily in his later years) and Dallas Cowboy apparel.

A son of the late William Calvin and Flora Stone, Nathan was born on January 15, 1942, in Wichita Falls, Texas. He attended Carrigan Elementary, Reagan Jr. High, and Wichita Falls High School. More than anything, Nathan enjoyed spending time with and entertaining his family; he was a consummate jokester. He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist church for 50 years, where he was a deacon. Reading the Bible, and studying prophecy were two of his favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed football, especially the Dallas Cowboys. At the grand opening of Nathan's Men's Hairstyling, a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader, was present to sign autographs and take pictures. In addition to hairstyling, Nathan accumulated 23 rental properties. He also loved Elvis Presley, and visited Graceland in 1988. In his younger days he enjoyed playing golf, socializing, cooking and feeding people, camping, helping the homeless, and traveling. He traveled to 49 states, many of them multiple times, Canada and Mexico. He particularly liked New York City. He was the kindest man who ever lived.

Nathan was preceded in death by his parents: William Calvin and Flora Stone Pruett; 3 sisters: Dorothy Case, Doris Pruett, and Mearline Gray; and 3 brothers: William Calvin "Dub" Pruett, Jerry Pruett, and Horace Pruett.

He is survived by 2 daughters: Laini Pruett of California; Shannon Pruett Ware and husband Nick of Wichita Falls; 3 grandchildren: Allie Rodriguez and husband Reyes of Wichita Falls; Z Salmon of California; Aston and fiance Cameron Chasteen of Denton; a brother: Tommy Pruett and wife Evelyn of Wichita Falls; and 2 sisters: Barbara Oram of Frisco; and Dwana Hughes and husband Charles of Houston.
