Oma Joyce Anderson went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 7, 2023.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, April 11th, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12 ^th at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home with Reverend Rod Payne officiating. Burial will be at the Garden of Remembrance in Crestview Cemetery in Wichita Falls, Texas, under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Oma was born on November 26, 1929 to Elmer and Lola (Ball) Cleveland in Ryan, Oklahoma. Elmer and Lola had four children, 1 boy and 3 girls with Oma being the second child born to the couple. She grew up in the Ryan area attending and graduating from Union Valley High School. After high school, Oma attended The Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma, majoring in physical education.

Oma and Dorman had grown up in the same communities but it was not until both were attending college that Dorman really caught her eye and she his. Dorman was attending the University of Oklahoma, and it was important to him to complete his education, so it was not until after a four-year courtship that they were married on December 21, 1951. They moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, after their marriage where Dorman would begin his career in the oil industry, and Oma would work for the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce until they would begin their family. From this beautiful marriage, two children were born,Terry Nils Anderson, the oldest and Noel Kevin Anderson.

Oma was active in her community and especially her church, First Baptist Church, of which she was a life-long member. She was an active member of her Joy Sunday School Class and Linda Thornton Bible Study. Oma was also involved in her groups such as the Wichita Heritage Society, Republican Women, Petroleum Engineers Wives, Women's Forum and various Lunch Bunches. She loved to garden and soak in the sunshine, finding that working with the soil made her happy. But nothing would make her happier than taking care of her children and grandchildren.

Even though Oma was active in the community, nothing brought her more joy than the love and happiness of her boys as she watched them grow into young men. She took great pleasure in watching them participate in sports, scouts, band and play with their dogs, Queenie, Snowball and Sir Brit. But her heart was truly full when Kevin's twin girls, Anna and Sophia arrived on the scene. Life would be chaotic for a while with girls, but once she established her routine with them, she couldn't have imagined her life any other way. She adored those girls, and Anna and Sophia loved her.

Oma was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Lola Cleveland; siblings, Lola Lavirl Massengale and James Cleveland; husband, Dorman Anderson; and oldest son, Terry Anderson, and is survived by her youngest son, Kevin Anderson and his twin daughters, Anna and Sophia of Flower Mound, Texas; her sister, Phyliss DeMoss of Wichita Falls Texas; and family and friends too numerous to list.

The family is requesting memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association and the Cancer Society.
