Pattie Crum Davis, a resident of Presbyterian Manor, died March 8 at United Regional Health Care System, a few days short of her 89 ^th birthday. The cause was related to congestive heart failure.

Pattie grew up in Chattanooga, Oklahoma, where she was the youngest of six children, four of whom died during childhood. She had an enduring connection to her hometown and attended many high-school class reunions throughout her life.

In 1979 Pattie's home was destroyed by the devastating tornado that hit Wichita Falls. She rebuilt and moved on with her life.

She retired in 1989 as a construction contracting officer, ending a 38-year career at Sheppard Air Force Base. While working, she earned her B.A. degree from Midwestern University. After retirement, substitute teaching was among the jobs Pattie took on. She loved working with preK students and had many stories to tell about them.

Pattie was an active bowler, serving as president of the Wichita Falls Women's Bowling League, but gave up that sport in later years, saying, "After one knee replacement and two hip replacements, it's not near as much fun."

Pattie was a person of deep faith. She belonged to First Baptist Church's Glory Choir and for many years attended Ramona Daniel's Sunday school class. A member of Daughters of the Nile, Pattie served as Queen in 2018-19, and she also volunteered at United Regional.

Pattie loved travel, eventually visiting all 50 states and several foreign countries. She was also an accomplished seamstress who made lavishly decorated Christmas stockings for four generations of her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Joyce Hudson; her brother-in-law Carroll; and her parents, Ona and Miller Crum. She is survived by her nephew, Keith Hudson (Patty); her niece, Toni Lydecker (Kent); great-nieces Kate Lydecker (Will), Mary Lydecker (Daniel) and Kristin Messerotes; and four great-great nieces and nephews. Beth Crane, Pattie's dear friend, was at her side to the end.

Pattie will be deeply missed for the positive attitude she brought to each day and her ability to connect with friends old and new. She was funny, upbeat, generous, at peace with herself and the world.

The burial will be private. A memorial service will be scheduled once gatherings of a size befitting her beautiful life are possible. The family requests that, in lieu of floral tributes, memorials be made to First Baptist Church, Daughters of the Nile or the charity of your choice.
