Ralph Ervin Yancey went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 22, 2024 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

A family visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 - 10:00 AM, Friday, January 3, 2025 at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 3, 2025 in Lunn's Colonial Chapel, 2812 Midwestern Parkway, Wichita Falls, Texas 76308, with Dr. Roger Yancey officiating. Entombment will be next to his wife in the Crestview Memorial Park Garden Mausoleum, 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas 76302, following the service.

Ralph was born July 24, 1926, in Wichita Falls to Marion Ernest Yancey and Iva Delilah Nail Yancey. Following his service in the U.S. Navy from October 7, 1944 until June 21, 1946, he returned to Wichita Falls where he worked in the oil field in Texas; Oklahoma and Louisiana.

Ralph excelled as a musician, teaching himself guitar and continuing to play and sing throughout his life. He enjoyed dancing and listening to western swing music with his many friends in Wichita Falls. He was notoriously fun to be with and known for his hearty laughter.

Ralph was preceded in death by his wife Wanda Beth Yancey on May 24, 2011. Ralph was one of 13 children and is survived by his brother Max Yancey and sisters Betty Tullos; Sherry Cumby; Sarah McCoy; and numerous nephews and nieces.
