On Friday, July 5, 2024, Robert K. Brock, our beloved father, passed away surrounded by family. He was eighty years old.

Robert, known to most by his middle name Keith, was born in Amarillo, Texas, to Dee Christine Robertson and James Dale Brock. He grew up in nearby Canyon, Texas, and attended school there. As the oldest of his siblings, Keith was often the ringleader of their childhood antics, with stories still being told today. His brother Ronnie recalls a time when they knocked a hole all the way through the wall of their rock home, and Keith had to fix it.

As a young man, Keith married the love of his life, LaHounda Sue Burchfield. He joined the Army in January 1961, and spent most of his service time in Germany as an Artillery Track Vehicle (Tank) Mechanic. During his military service, he earned awards for Expert Rifle, Marksman Carbine, Marksman Rifle, and Sharpshooter Rifle. After returning home, Keith went into business using skills learned from his father. He owned Brock Plumbing Company, earning his Master Plumber's license and maintaining it until the day of his passing. According to the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners, he was one of the oldest, if not the oldest, active Master Plumbers in the state. Keith moved to the Wichita Falls, Texas, area, where he worked for many years on plumbing and contractor jobs, including installing sprinkler systems in Wichita Falls City parks, plumbed the newer MSU buildings, and the plumbing for Castaway Cove Water Park.

Keith enjoyed old western movies, tools, collecting old currency, attending national hardware shows, visiting the casino, and eating Mexican food. He had a special soft spot for animals, especially his beloved puppies who accompanied him everywhere.

Keith loved God and had a fierce work ethic. He worked hard all his life without complaint, but his favorite job by far was being a husband of 53 years, Dad, and Papa. Nothing meant more to him than providing all he could for those he loved. He was strong, quiet, smart, and witty, often catching everyone off guard with his sense of humor, followed by his signature smirking smile and chuckle.

There are no words that could describe how much he is loved and will be missed every moment of every day until we see him again.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, baby brother Gary, brother Bobby, sister Peggy, brother Stephen, beloved wife LaHounda, and son Billy.

He is survived by his brothers Ronnie (Merle) and Terry (Sandy), sister-in-law Brenda, eight children, twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, at Hope Cemetery, North Red River Street, Henrietta, Texas, 76365.
