Robert "Rob" Davis Lindley was born February 23, 1956 in Olney Texas and joined his Lord and Savior on September 27, 2022 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

A Celebration of life will be held at Edgemere Church of Christ at 4728 Neta Ln. in Wichita Falls on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services are to follow at Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m., Friday, September 30, 2022 at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

He attended S.H. Rider High School where he played varsity football and went on to attend the University of Texas. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity and was a lifelong Longhorn football fan despite his daughter's attendance at Texas A&M. After college he married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Lovett Lindley. Early in his career, Rob farmed watermelons and peppers in Young County. Following his experience in watermelon farming, Rob spent the rest of his career working in the family oil and gas business. His devotion to his family knew no bounds as demonstrated by his dedication in supporting his wife and daughter often at great sacrifice to himself. He was their fiercest supporter and protector.

One of Rob's many special skills was accidentally setting things on fire (earning him first name status and several out-of-town recognitions by the local firemen) and finding creative ways to do yard work. Rob enjoyed hosting friends at his home and was the first to laugh at stories. Rob often traveled with his family, spreading joy and laughter outside of his home. His countless stories about the misadventures had within his normal day to day activities were unmatched by anyone except Margaret.

He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Lindley, father Regan Lindley, and sister Melinda Shipman.

His loss is mourned by his daughter Anne and wife Margaret of 42 years, siblings Janie and James Lindley, in-laws Tommy and Angie Lovett and John Shipman along with their children, and his dear family Dick, Renee, Camille, Charlie, Erin, and Carol Allred along with John and Ann Kable.
