During the early morning hours of April 2, 2025, Robert "Bob" Filbert Arellano, 75, of Wichita Falls, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family at his bedside in his home.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. Bob's younger brother, David Arellano, will be officiating and floral arrangements will be provided by Salina Villa-Price.

A son of Abelino and Prudencia, Bob was born on August 22, 1949, in Huanusco, Zacatecas, Mexico. He was the sixth of thirteen children. He grew up and spent much of his life in Los Angeles, California. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School and graduated in 1967.

In 1969, he met Libby Dominguez Melgar, the love of his life. 6 months later on January 10, 1970, they were married by the Catholic Church in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico. He was a man of faith and received six of the seven sacraments, the last of which being the Anointing of the Sick on October 31, 2024. He was kind, protective, hard working and a generous man by nature. Bob donated to numerous Catholic and Veteran charities in honor of his 3 brothers that served in the US Military. Bob was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who crossed his path. He enjoyed traveling to Mexico to visit his family, and taking road trips to the mountains, beaches, and lakes to explore nature with his family.

In 1971, Bob began working for the automotive manufacturing company General Motors in Van Nuys, CA. In 1974, he purchased his first home in Los Angeles, CA just one block from his parents home so that he would always be close by and available for anything they needed. With almost 38 years of service he retired on April 1, 2009 as a Team Leader for the Paint and Finish Dept. During his retirement, Bob spent his free time delivering meals to the elderly and disabled residents of Arlington for the Meals on Wheels program. Additionally, he spent much of his time cooking, camping, fishing, woodworking, working on cars, gardening, landscaping, and making mix CDs for his friends and family.

He was a long time fan of the Chargers NFL team since the 60s and also a fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers. He enjoyed watching all sports and attending MLB games with his family. He played baseball in High School and spent time as a coach for little league teams. He continued to play baseball as a left-handed pitcher and was also was an umpire for General Motors' industrial league in both Van Nuys, CA and Wichita Falls, Texas.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Abelino and Prudencia, grandmother Rosalia, uncle Santos and his siblings which include an unnamed stillborn sister, brother Encarnacion, brother Rosendo, & sister Elena.

He is survived by Libby, his wife of 55 years, daughters Natalie and Nancy, siblings Linda, Maggie, Teri, David, Victor, and Marta, grandchildren James, Hilary, Desmond, Jordan, and Jason, great granddaughter Darla, son-in-law Omar Starks Sr, Omar's eldest sons Omar Jr and Christopher, as well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and Godchildren.
