Robert Edward Taubert Jr., age 55, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend entered eternal life on Thursday January 27, 2022. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022, from 6:00-7:00 PM, at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home, 2812 Midwestern Pkwy, Wichita Falls, Texas with the Celebration of his life Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 10:00 AM also at Lunn's.

He was born in Houston, Texas, on November 12, 1966, to Robert Edward Taubert Sr. and Rebecca Thompson Taubert Perry. Rob was diagnosed with a rare neurological condition, Hereditary Spastic Paraparesis, in early childhood. This diagnosis laid the foundation for Rob's fighting spirit, deep empathy and heart of giving to others. He understood there were families and children who needed help even more than he did. Rob was especially fond of supporting the Scottish Rite Hospital, Children's Miracle Network and the Shriner's Burn Hospital to name a few.

Born into a military family, Rob began his schooling in Hanau, Germany, then continued at Ben Franklin Elementary and Barwise Middle School. His mom remarried in 1980, providing Rob with a second military family and adventure which led him to attending Mililani Middle and High Schools in Hawaii for two years. He then returned to Wichita Falls, graduating with the class of 1985. He attended college at Stephen F. Austin University and Northern Virginia CC in Fairfax, Virginia.

As an active member of Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts - in which he achieved Life Scout rank - his love for the outdoors and hunting was kindled at an early age. He loved spending summers as a camper at Camp Longhorn, achieving awards in archery and swimming. Rob was particularly proud of a Gold Medal Axis deer he was able to take in Texas; it hangs proudly in his home.

Rob's outgoing, sarcastic, funny and spontaneous personality was always on display and helped him to make friends wherever life led him. If you had five minutes to talk, Rob would take an hour. He excelled in his ability to listen and communicate with others. These strengths led Rob to working in multiple call centers throughout the state of Texas ending with ATT in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was an encyclopedia of history and sports facts long before fact checking was commonplace. He was particularly adept on the Pacific Ocean battles of WWII and the Vietnam War. Most notably, he was honored to serve as a mentor and fatherly figure in any way possible for those who crossed his path.

Rob was a passionate sports enthusiast and enjoyed attending sporting events including his alma mater the WFHS Coyotes, Dallas Stars, NASCAR, PGA, NBA and Mixed Martial Arts UFC fights. He was a season WF Wildcats ticket holder and enjoyed supporting youth hockey. As a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, Rob was thrilled to meet several players including Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Jay Novacek and coach Tom Landry. Everywhere Rob went, his magnetic personality found him in the company of celebrities or sports personalities including Gordon Ramsey, Sean Elliot, Reggie Jackson, Earl Campbell, Yogi Berra and Catfish Hunter.

Rob loved to travel and became an avid cruiser. Rob's favorite cruising port was hanging out at Señor Frogs in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. He especially loved cruising with his family because he wanted to make happy memories for his family to hold onto after he was gone.

He is proceeded in death by his father, Robert "Bob" Taubert Sr.; infant sister Wanda; brother David; maternal grandparents Beuford and Anita Thompson; paternal grandfather James E. "Jimmy" Taubert; paternal grandmother Julia Lee Taubert.

Rob is survived by his mother and dad, Rebecca and Keye Perry of Georgetown, Texas; Grandmother Dorothy Ann Perry of Cottage Grove, Oregon; sister Sarabeth Perry of Georgetown, Texas; sister in law Debbie Taubert of Abilene; brothers Trevor Taubert of Wichita Falls, Texas; Keye E Perry Jr. (Connie) of Huntsville, Alabama; Bryan Perry (Kristin) of North Richland Hills, Texas; nieces Libby, Margaret Ann, Mackenzie and Megan; nephews Connor, Hayden, Jake, Zach and Max; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family is extremely grateful for the devoted care and companionship of his caregivers over the last several years, Jamie Goodner, Carlos Mendez and Carmen Ortiz.
