Ronald James Duggan, 93, of Wichita Falls, passed away peacefully in his home on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.

Ron was born to Hilda Marie (Bouchereau) and Charles Earl Duggan on September 18, 1929, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ron knew he wanted to serve his country, so he joined the United States Air Force in January, 1951. He proudly dedicated 21 years of his life to the United States Air Force, and through his hard work, achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. During his military career, Ron served two tours in Vietnam. He was also stationed at several locations including Barksdale AFB in Louisiana, Zaragoza and San Pablo (Sevilla) bases in Spain, and Davis-Monthan AFB in Arizona. He retired in 1971 from Sheppard AFB and made Wichita Falls his home. Following military retirement, Ron worked for Sprague Electric Company as a machinist. He was a loving husband, father, son, and committed airman.

Ron was an active member of Jefferson Street Baptist Church where he loved to sing in the choir. His Christian faith was an essential part of his daily life. Ron carried a spirit of joy that touched those around him.

Ron loved Cracker Barrel and could often be found eating and socializing with his Cracker Barrel family. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, humor, and great wit. Ron's entire life was grounded by his family until his death. He was one of a kind. Ron will never be forgotten but forever remembered and missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; and his lovely wives, Doris Renah Duggan and June Holliday Duggan.

As well as many friends, Ron is survived by his children, Pamela Marie (Duggan) Herrera and Phyllis Ann Duggan; granddaughter and husband Allison and Dan Van Ness; grandson and wife Derek and Maura Herrera; great grandchildren Cael DeNigris, Lincoln DeNigris, McKenna Van Ness, Nash Van Ness, Hunter Herrera and Hudson Herrera. Ron is also survived by his sister, Joan Duggan.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2 ^nd at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Robert KinCannon, Jefferson Street Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
