Our beloved Mother, our "Queen B", Rosa G. Elliott, 96 years old, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2021, at Hospice of Wichita Falls surrounded by family.

The family will receive visitors from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 12 ^th at Lunn's. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13 ^th at Lunn's Chapel with Chaplain Darren Ward officiating. Interment will follow at Holliday Cemetery under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Rosa was born on August 31, 1924, to Gregorio and Louisa Gonzales in Campbellton, Texas. She married Manuel Griego in 1946, and together they raised seven children. They moved to Wichita Falls in 1965, when soon thereafter, Manuel, her husband, died. Rosa was left a young widow at the age of 42. She decided to stay in Wichita Falls and raise her children alone, which is a testament to the great strength Rosa showed throughout her life. She provided for her children by working as a seamstress at Scott's Manufacturing Company until they closed.

In 1982, Rosa met Tom Elliott and moved to Holliday where they were happily married for 25 years. She was a member of the Assembly of God church in Holliday. She loved the Lord and prayed for her family every night.

Rosa was a beautiful, courageous and kind lady. She never missed an opportunity to speak to someone or befriend anyone who needed her help. She was an avid walker who enjoyed walking around her neighborhood with her furbaby, Buddy. She loved to crochet, and she loved to dance, especially at celebrations given in her honor. She was happiest working on her yard and tending to her beautiful flowers.

Rosa is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Louis Griego; her grandson, Freddie Lira, Jr; her granddaughter, Deanna Marie Griego; her brothers, Jesus Gonzales, Nestor Gonzales, Gregorio Gonzales, Arcario Gonzales, Juan Gonzales, Joe Gonzales; and her sisters, Maria Aguirre, Simplicia Arguijo and Hercilia Hernandez.

She is survived by her children, Marie Kurtz and husband, Doug; Dr. Manuel Griego and wife, Debbie; Minerva Fernandez, Dino Griego, Vivian Garcia and husband, Arturo; Miguel Griego and wife, Mary; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family is grateful for the prayers and support from friends of the family, doctors, nurses and all who cared for their Mother, Rosa, and offer their most heartfelt thank you.
