Ruth Hiatt Berry Makins, 95, peacefully went to meet her Savior on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, in Frisco, Texas.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1 ^st at First Presbyterian Church Chapel with Dr. Isaac Butterworth officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Ruth was born on December 17, 1926, in Wichita Falls to Eugene and Helen Berry. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1944 and the University of Texas at Austin in 1948, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. It was there she met the love of her life, Bob, and they married in 1948 and returned to Wichita Falls.

Ruth was a charter member of The Junior League of Wichita Falls and Cotillion Club. She was also active in Unity III, Petroleum Wives Club, Museum Guild and Wichita County Heritage Society.  She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a trustee, floral chairman and Deacon. She also volunteered at Presbyterian Manor.

Ruth loved playing bridge with friends, arranging and displaying fresh flowers in her home and gardening. She has been described as a "People Person Extraordinaire." She will be dearly missed by all those she's known and loved.

In 2014 Ruth moved to Frisco to be close to her family. A special thanks from the family goes out to the workers at Sunrise of Frisco for their loving care of Ruth, as well as to Max Serve Hospice.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob in 1999; as well as her sister, Margaret Stephens; and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Marshall and husband, Gary, of Plano, TX; her two cherished grandchildren, Layne Marshall and his wife, Jackie, of Carrollton, TX and Lindsay Bloomer and her husband, Tyler, of Fort Worth, TX; and her four precious great-grandchildren whom she adored-Jack Bloomer, Madelyn Bloomer, Will Bloomer and Lexi Marshall. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy Townes of Tyler, TX; five nephews; and two nieces.
