Sammie L. Pope, 91, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on October 15, 2022.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on October, 21 ^st , at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home with Reverend Warren Hall officiating, followed by a visitation. Interment will be at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home

Sammie was born in Oden, Arkansas, on July 13, 1931, to Marvin M. and Myrtle Forbes Mullenix, along with brother, Otis and sister, Juanita. She married Harlan Baxter Pope on November 12, 1952. She and Harlan had three children together, a son, Marc Pope, and two daughters, Cheryl Taylor and Georgann Pope.

Sammie was an avid bowler and was the proprietor of Village Bowl for over 30 years. During that time she found lifelong friends who have followed and cared for her right up to the end. She was also active in the Texas Bowling Centers Association and served as president at one point. She was inducted into the Texas Bowling Hall of Fame in 2013.

Sammie was preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Baxter Pope; daughter, Georgann; grandson Bradley Pope; parents, Marvin M. and Myrtle Forbes Mullenix; brother, Otis; and sister, Juanita.

She is survived by her son, Marc and girlfriend Grace Onale; daughter, Cheryl; grandchildren, April and Jodie Pope, Nathan Pope, and Samara McWilliams; granddaughters-in-law, Elizabeth and Ebony; and ten great grandchildren. She truly loved her family and cherished having all over to her home for any occasion that could be created or celebrated.
