Sarah Constance (Connie) Phillis, 73, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on December 11, 2023.

Memorial Services will be held December 27th at 1:00 p.m. at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home with Anthony Levell presiding. The family will receive friends at a visitation following the service at Lunn's Colonial. Interment will be at a later date at Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks in Cypress, California, next to her husband Michael Phillis.

A daughter of the late Horace Camp and Sue Emery, Connie was born on May 11, 1950, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She attended Ben Franklin Elementary, Zundy Junior High and Wichita Falls High School, graduating in 1968. She was also a graduate of Midwestern State University. Connie was a Family Living Skills teacher at Waurika High School, Waurika, Oklahoma. She previously taught Language Arts in the Wichita Falls Independent School District.

Connie loved her job! Her father told her many times over the years that she should teach school, but she paid little attention, trying a number of professions before realizing that teaching is what she was meant to do. She was very involved with her students and strived to instill the best in them. She also worked in advertising at the Wichita Falls Times Record News and the Reno Gazette Journal.

Connie cared. She had a great sense of humor, always attracted to the sardonic and ironic. An avid user of social media, Connie enjoyed staying in touch with dear friends, both near and far. She loved working on the "Baby Boomer Reunion" for Wichita Falls High School. Illness made Connie leave us way too soon, and we all miss her terribly.

Connie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mike Phillis; her parents, H.B., "Nick" Camp and Sue Emery; step parents, Marguerite Camp and John Emery; grandparents, G.L. and Corene Camp; and B.J. and Trula McHam.

Connie is survived by her sister, Ann McGrath; brother, Billy Camp; nephew Sean McGrath; her brothers-in-law, Jim McGrath and Derrick Sheldon; special family friend, Cody Polk; numerous cousins and all of the students she taught and loved.
